Concept - Part I

To understand the concept, let's start with the layout of a traditional controller.
Buttons are devided in 4 sections: MENU, UP/DOWN, PRESETS and IA's.
On the more intelligent controller you can even choose the ratio between Presets/IA's (0/15, 5/10, 10/5).

The LF+ starts with a blank Page on which YOU define the Function of each Button.
e.g. the MENU Button is not needed since we have a user-friendly Editor.

possible Pages may look like this:

You get the picture. But this is just the beginning!

Each Button can have 2 Functions. By holding (or double tap) you activate the underlying 2nd Function.

Since this can get complicated, you can name each Button Function and give it a color.

So your Page might look like the picture on the right.
(to be clear: each Button has only one color and Function active. The picture shows both Functions and colors).

As attentive reader you noticed that the 2nd Function of Button 12 is another Page.

That's right, you can store 50 different Page layouts! These Pages can be loaded on various ways (e.g. by activating a Preset).

You could have a main Page with some Presets and IA's and another Page controlling your looper and a 3th Page controlling detailed parameters of your delay..... Only your imagination is your limit!

Each Page has 60 virtual Buttons which have 2 Functions. Depending on the LF+ model these virtual Buttons are linked to physical Buttons. In our example, virtual Buttons 1-12 are linked to physical Buttons 1-12. Buttons 13-60 stay virtual. They could linked to another LF+ that's configured as expander.

Those virtual Buttons can have different functions: Preset, IA-slot, Navigation (e.g. bank up/down) or Page select.

Concept - Part II

Confusing? Let's try it top - bottom.

PAGE (1 of 50)

(A traditional controller would have 1 fixed Page out of 3 fixed Pages to choose from.)

Page is the top. You can choose 1 out of 50 Pages. Only one can be active.

Page is the layout of your footcontroller.

BUTTON (60)

(A traditional controller would have 18 physical Buttons, no virtual.)

Each Page has 60 virtual Buttons.

Depending on your controller (8 for LF+ mini/jr+, 12 for LF+ 12/12+, 24 for LF+ Pro+)
there are 8/12/24 physical Buttons linked to the virtual Buttons.

FUNCTION (2)

(Not available on a traditional controller.)

Each Button has 2 Functions. Function #1 is immediately accessible.

Function #2 can be accessed by double clicking the Button or holding down the Button.

Functions can be Preset, IA-slot, Navigation (e.g. bank up/down) or Page select.

IA-SLOT (1 of 60)

(Not available on a traditional controller.)

Each Function can have 1 IA-Slot.

There are 180 IA-Slots, 60 of them can be put in a IA-Map. Only IA-Slots of the choosen IA-Map are available.

IA-COMMAND (2x20)

(A traditional controller would have 1 CC ON command and 1 CC OFF command.)

Each IA-Slot can have 20 ON commands and 20 BYPASS (Off) commands.

Beside 7 sorts of Midi commands like PC and CC you can choose out of 57 different IA-commands.
